15 Brain Dock
Brain Screening with MRI, MRA and Carotid Ultrasound Test
Benefits of Brain Screening Test
If your health is okay and there is no abnormality, such as numbness and tingling sensations, it is still advisable to have a head scan as a preventive measure. Head numbness can be an indication of a stroke. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a low-invasive, x-ray free scanning technology that can produce clear and detailed images of nearly all of the organs in the body. MRI can depict brain function, and can help diagnose a stroke or blood vessel problems in the head at a very early stage. It can also identify blood clots and can show bleeding in or around the brain. Silent strokes and unrecognized brain abnormalities - including brain tumors, aneurysms, and possible causes of dementia are being revealed by MRI. As for all our programs, we recommend having a head and neck MRI for early detection and treatment of disease.
16. Lung Dock
Screening test includes: 320 Multi-Slice CT Scan and Lung Function Test to check any abnormalities in your lung and to investigate a diagnosis of lung cancer
Benefits of Lung Dock / Lung Screening Test
Lung cancer is still expected to be the leading cause of death from cancer in both women and men. Routine chest x-ray screening are often unable to detect lung cancer until they are of advanced stage. At SKGH, the 320 Multi-Slice CT scanner provides a powerful diagnostic imaging tool that is faster, clearer and can lead to more accurate treatment. This fast scanning capability reduces breath holding problems and allows important diagnostic information concerning the lungs to be obtained.
17. Heart Dock
Screening test includes: 320 Multi-Slice CT Scan, Calcium Score, Carotid and Renal Artery Ultrasound Test, ABI/PWV test and NTproBNP
Benefits of Heart Dock/ Heart Screening Test
Cardiac diseases such as angina, myocardial infarction (heart attack) and abnormal cardiac rhythm can be a cause of death if these conditions become critical. Therefore, it is important to know your risks of cardiac disease to start early preventative treatment and life style changes.
The cardiovascular dock package provide an in-depth evaluation of the heart. The 320 Multi-Slice CT scanner can image the entire heart and can detect calcified plaques in the arteries of the heart, and can also accurately measure how much calcium is present in the arteries.
Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) and Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) is a non-invasive diagnostic test for detecting poor blood circulation in the limbs, which is associated with a future risk of heart attack and stroke.
18. Colon Screening
Colonoscopy
Benefits of Colon Screening Test
Colorectal cancer in its early stages usually does not cause any symptoms. Symptoms occur later, when the cancer may be more difficult to treat. The most common symptoms include blood in your stool, lower back pain, and a change in your bowel habits such as, constipation or diarrhea. Colon cancer treatment depends on the stage of the disease. 73% of colon cancers are found after symptoms appear, in advanced stage, while 27% are detected in an early stage. With proper screening, colon cancer can be detected before symptoms develop, when it is most curable by endoscopic removal.
That is why undergoing such screening tests, before any symptoms develop, is so important. "Will it hurt?" is the most commonly asked question from a patient about to undergo their first colonoscopy. The procedure is usually well tolerated and rarely causes pain. In fact, the vast majority of patients experience no discomfort during the test. Colon cancer can almost always be caught in its earliest and most curable stages by colonoscopy. It is recommended that anyone over the age of 40 has a colonoscopy performed and if there is a change in bowel habits such as constipation or diarrhea.
